Mindful Musings #25

As long as I've lived there have been at least 15 predictions that the world would end on a specific day! Ok, so maybe it was more like 5 times, and every time it happened, nothing happened.

Today, the sun came up, climbed up into my sky and is now on its way to setting and Lordy Lordy, the world is still here!

I guess it's all part of the silly season we've endured...the Arab Spring, the Donald's fake presidency run and the "just say no" Republicans in Congress and in Wisconsin. Adding it all up, it just must be the air we're breathing or the water we're drinking. Or maybe it's just pure ignorance. I like to think of it as ignorance. Living one's life in magical thinking realms leads to beliefs that are wacky and stupid.

I can tell the difference between fact and fiction. Least I think I can. But what I don't get are people who read the facts and don't believe it. You can take them to the scene of the crime, see the blood, the dead body but they say it isn't there or least of all, it's a flesh wound! Maybe my analogy is morbid, but it leaves me scratching my head. I do not understand people who see what is right in front of them, yet, they do not acknowledge the facts.

The silly season will get sillier as we get closer to Nov. 2012. Oh yeah, by the way, don't forget, the world is supposed to end in 2012, too. Believe it just like you believed Obama is a communist, Kenyan, muslim!
