I'm amazed at how much has been done within the last few days and I'm scratching my head trying to figure out who to thank. President Obama needs to be congratulated for hanging tough and his backdoor manipulating. I hear Vice President Biden was instrumental in helping especially with the passage of the New Start Treaty. One of the good things about its passage is that it makes Mitch McConnel look like an idiot. Remember he was the one that said the only plan the GOP had was to limit President Obama to one term. I love watching the GOP look idiotic like that. Maybe we should thank the "reasonable" members of the Republican party who voted WITH the Democrats and what about those Democrats who stood tough and passed legislation before Christmas!
Today I heard one of the commentators say that after the Nov. 2nd "debacle" (as it was called by the righties) the Republicans were strutting around like a Louisiana funeral procession. I thought that analogy was clever. The picture I got was that they were strutting around claiming the death of the Democrats and President Obama. Au Contrere (pardon my French), it just shows what a great politician our president is and how very clever he is around strutting roosters as the Republicans are.
Now that they are tasked with governing, the Republicans will have to truly govern. Out of the current legislation newly passed was a recognition of moderate Republicans voting with the Democrats. How totally refreshing! I wonder how the righties in the GOP are going to deal with reality as it is...Let me get my popcorn and watch from the bleachers and oh yes, Happy Christmas!
